Real Wedding: Mark & Angela’s Summer Elopement at Millbrook Estate

Some couples dream of grand entrances and long guest lists. Others, like Mark and Angela, find magic in simplicity, intimacy, and the joy of doing things their way.
How it Began
Mark and Angela met in 2020 while working as bus drivers – a shared journey in more ways than one. Together, they enjoy long walks, bike rides, meals out, and holidays… so it’s no surprise that when it came to their wedding, they wanted a relaxed celebration that felt just like them.
Angela shared ;
“I’d been married before and Mark isn’t one for a lot of fuss, so eloping just felt right. We weren’t going to tell anyone at first – but I felt a little guilty, so we ended up inviting my daughter, her husband, and Rocket the dog to be our witnesses.”
Why Millbrook?
Like many of our couples, it all started with a Google search.
“I typed in ‘elopement weddings’ and Millbrook popped up. After seeing all the gorgeous photos and reading the amazing reviews, I just knew this was the place.”
And it didn’t disappoint. With the lush green gardens of North Devon in full summer bloom, Mark and Angela exchanged vows in our tranquil surroundings with just their nearest and dearest (and Rocket!) by their side.
A Day to Remember
From the moment Cathy Vanstone worked her hair and makeup magic, to the relaxed photo session with the talented Rebecca Roundhill, every detail was about making the day feel effortless and special.
Angela and Mark ended their perfect day with a private dining experience crafted by Justine Wood – so memorable, in fact, that they’ve already booked it again for their 1st anniversary.

What’s Next?
Their only regret;
“We didn’t book for longer so we could explore the whole estate and surrounding areas. But that’s the delight to come – we’re booked in again for our 1st anniversary!”
