Whatever The Weather Wedding

Our Engagement

Andy had booked a country hotel as a belated valentines treat and had planned to propose. The ring was ordered but didn’t arrive on time! Instead of shelving the idea, he snuck my late Grandma's ring along and used that as a temporary substitute. Of course, I said 'yes'.

Whatever the Weather Wedding Day

Why did you choose Millbrook Estate?

We knew of someone who also had a runaway wedding and hoped to find somewhere intimate and romantic for us to marry. Therefore we googled runaway weddings and came across Millbrook. We love hearts, candles and real log fires and to find the summer house was all of this, made us realise this was the place. It was so us! The estate looked so beautiful and the 5 star cottage was just what we were looking for.

Whatever the Weather Wedding

How did you feel about your special day?

We felt blessed. With Storm Emma on the way, the day didn't quite go according to plan. The temperatures outside were in the minus figures, the lake was frozen and the snow was waiting to fall. The wedding was brought forward several hours and luckily, the photographer and make-up artist could still make it. Bob even picked up the Registrars from the village! The unexpected events made the day more memorable and unique. It was fun, exciting and a tad emotional. The whole day was just magical!

Elopement Wedding

Have you got any advice for other couples thinking of Eloping?

Don't hesitate, just book it! We have no regrets of it being just the two of us. On the day, take time to enjoy it, as the day passes by so quickly.
