Perfect Elopement Weddings

Five reasons Millbrook's Elopement Weddings are perfect

Published on May 8th 2017

Sometimes you don’t need a big, lavish wedding, with hundreds of guests, what seems like thousands of bottles of bubbly and more food than the five thousand would require.
Sometimes you just need yourself, your partner, a few guests, and one of the most beautiful vistas the UK has to offer - the North Devon countryside.
Here at Millbrook, we specialise in Secret Elopement Weddings, and our estate - set in 32 acres of beautiful North Devon countryside - promises to be the perfect setting for any big day.
Should you wish to be wed high up in the clouds, want a TV chef to cook your wedding breakfast or require a little help with the finishing touches; we’ve got your back.

We cater for ALL weddings

We cater for all weddings
In recent years, we have become the number one venue in the South West for Intimate Same Sex Weddings.
We offer a very personal and romantic experience for all couples who wish for their wedding to be truly meaningful.
Both our same sex and bride and groom Runaway Weddings are designed to make your wedding day stress free and all about you.
Your ceremony will take place in the Summer House where, during the warmer months, the doors to the house can be opened, allowing the happy couple to enjoy a (nearly) al fresco ceremony. The house also has a roaring logfire, perfect for during the winter.

Tree Top Escape:

Tree Top Escape our Intimate Wedding Venue
Ever dreamt of being wed up in the clouds? Our Tree Top Escape offers a luxurious hideaway haven perched above and amongst the trees - the perfect place for a special wedding and honeymoon.
The intimate weddings, with room for up to 14 guests, take place in The Nest - linked to the Tree House by a romantic wooden walkway.
Once the wedding is complete, head back to the Tree House to celebrate.
Two sumptuous bedrooms sleep up to four people, while a private hot tub outside on the balcony, gorgeous lounge with panoramic views and Italian designer kitchen makes it the perfect place to spend your first days as a married couple.

A TV chef to cook your wedding breakfast

TV Chef to cook for you
One of the most important parts of a wedding is, arguably, the food. Therefore, we are delighted to be able to offer the culinary talents of Annie MacKenzie - MasterChef semi-finalist in 2016. Annie partnered with us earlier this year, and offers intimate Private Dining experiences for wedding parties - be that two of you, or 16. Annie says: “Whether it be just the bride and groom in Millbrook's Summer House, or a small wedding party in their glorious Tree Top Escape, each menu is tailored to my clients' and carefully chosen by us as a team to ensure that it's a meal to remember. “The menu's change depending on the seasons, on dietary requirements and - of course - clients' preferences.”

Bring your dog!

Dog Friendly Weddings
It’s not your “big day” without your best friend, is it? At Millbrook we love animals, and canine companions are more than welcome in our 5 star Wheel Room and at Tree Top Escape. Our estate is a dog’s heaven with 32 acres of woods, lawns and lakes - not forgetting 15 acres of meadows for dogs to run off lead!

The little things

The Little Things
Weddings can, undoubtedly, be stressful times.
However, when you choose to celebrate your big day with us, you’re not only receiving a gorgeous location to say “I do” - you’re enlisting our help.
As experts in our field, we can recommend the best of our region’s wedding photographers, while, if private dining doesn’t quite float your boat, we can organise a cream tea, high tea or even canapes after your ceremony.
And that’s not all.
Need a florist? We’ve got you covered. Hair and makeup? We can recommend some of the area’s best beauticians. Want to take your reception elsewhere? We can suggest some of the most beautiful, local locations.
We’ll even love to be your witnesses, should you desire.
Put simply; we’re here to - and will - help make your wedding day one to treasure forever.
